Lapis Hoop Necklace

$55.00 USD Sold Out

This necklace was designed and made by Jessica R. Metcalfe and features lapis, silver accents, and deerskin lace.

Since ancient times, lapis lazuli has been cherished by many cultures, and Native American-made lapis jewelry continues to be popular to this day. While we think of turquoise and red coral as the quintessential Southwestern Native jewelry, lapis is an important stone featured in necklaces, bracelets, rings, and earrings.

This necklace can be worn alone with a casual tee, a blouse, or a little black dress; or combine it with other Native-made jewelry for a bolder approach. The large faceted lapis pendant measure 1.25" and hangs on a 1.5" silver hoop. The 26" adjustable chocolate brown deerskin leather lace necklace features metal beads.

Each piece of lapis is unique - containing a beautiful mixture of multiple elements such as deep lazurite, cloudy white calcite, sparkling pyrite, and tiny flecks of mica, to create something akin to a night sky full of stars and wisps of clouds.
