Flower Power Earrings
$50.00 Sold Out
Long and lightweight, these earrings by Jessica R. Metcalfe (Turtle Mountain Chippewa) make a beautiful statement.
Throughout history, for thousands of years, flowers were important. They were revered for their beauty, of course, but also because they signaled a certain time of year, a certain location, or a certain medicinal plant, and Native American artists and storytellers took the opportunity to incorporate specific florals into their designs to reference these things - it could be a traditional hunting ground, the location of an important gathering spot, or the recipe to a healing tonic.
Whatever your background, I encourage you to ask your community about flower stories, any story, and ask about its relevance - I know you will discover some very interesting information!
They hang 8" long. Gold hooks, long white deerskin, and brass jingle cones. This item ships from the US.
NOTE: Please store your new earrings in the box provided to protect the hide.
