These post earrings were made by Michael Adams (Hopi/Tewa) and are engraved on natural alder wood and painted with black acrylic. They measure .5" in diameter. The water wave design represents fluidity and calmness and circles around to make a complete transition. Includes gift box and custom earring holder.
Born on the Hopi reservation and surrounded by culture and art, Adams was inspired to create his own style with jewelry. He looks to his parents for inspiration; his mother is a Hopi/Tewa potter and his father is a Katsina doll carver. Each earring is created using gourd or basswood. He hand-cuts, shapes, and then paints each earring using acrylics. A final coating of protective gloss seals the design and gives the earring a shine. He explained, "I love to incorporate color and Hopi symbolism into my designs all referencing nature as it occurs naturally." This item ships from the US.
