Santo Domingo Heishi Necklace (Coral Pendant)

This bold necklace made by Santo Domingo Pueblo artist Torevia Crespin from the Southwest features bold heishi beads in a variety of materials. Heishi beads have been made since ancient times and were hand-carved from various shells, stones, and mineral rocks. They continue to be highly treasured, incorporated into jewelry and adornment, and passed down and cherished. 

This amazing necklace features apple coral, Kingman turquoise, and a large and bold pendant comprised of blue turquoise, black jet, and rich red coral inlaid on black jet. It measures 2" long by 1" wide.
