Russian Blue Trade Bead Necklace
This adjustable necklace features a rare handmade antique glass trade bead.
These antique European beads were made from a rich blue glass, and faceted by hand. The jeweler held each bead against a grinding wheel several times to create each faceted side. These beads were made in Bohemia, and carried by the Russian fur trade to the Pacific Northwest in the early 1800s. Because of their age and travel, slight variations in color exist, and some have minor chips, all which add to their rich heritage and beauty.
Over 100 years later, with countless stories to tell, they now combine their journey with yours.
