This stunning basket was made by Chippewa artist Chuck Stone Boy and features birchbark harvested from the Turtle Mountains of North Dakota.
This beautiful basket features the rare red medicinal bark of the birch tree harvested from where the northern plains meet the woodlands. The basket was made using ancient traditional techniques and all natural materials. The elaborate design features a makwa (bear) in a forest with a large moon and bear paw designs. A beautiful and exceptional piece. One of a kind; signed by the artist. Sinew holds the basket together, along with a willow rim. The medium-sized basket measures 7"x5"x7".
